The development of the airport at Perth/Guildford in the mid-1980s included the construction of a new International Terminal on the eastern side of the aerodrome, along with a new Control Tower. These photos show the new, third, Tower under construction in about 1985. The new Tower was commissioned the following year.

Because of the sandy soil on which Perth Airport is built, deep foundations were required to support the 80m high Tower, as shown below.
